Welcome to Year 6! Undoubtedly, your last year of Primary School is the very best, and we have so much to look forward to this year! We are very lucky to have our own special area in Year 6 and this year we have a brand new reading area to enjoy with a lovely forest theme. We will be covering some exciting topics in Theme such as ‘Disasters’, ‘Greek Legacy’ and ‘Wild Waters!’ as well as lots of other challenging and exciting work across the curriculum. During the Spring term, we will be helping you to prepare for your SATs. Every member of staff is here to help you to get the very best out of Year 6. We can’t wait to see what this year brings.
Our current English unit is focused around ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’ by Michael Morpurgo. So far this term, the children have created informative posters to inform outdoor enthusiasts of how to stay safe on a deserted island, have written emotive paragraphs from Michaels perspective when he fell overboard the Peggy Sue (sailing boat), and have used the descriptions within the book to draw what the island would have looked like. Have a look at some of the wonderful work produced so far. We are very impressed!
