We went on a trip to Kenilworth Castle as part of our Theme topic- ‘The Elephant and the Castle’. The children had a superb time and learned lots about the castle. They had to act as historians and use their imagination to picture the castle as it was when it was first built. The children found the arrow slits and where the well, toilet, stairs, fireplaces and portcullis would have been. We were extremely impressed with the behaviour of all the children and were proud to have them as ambassadors of Hearsall Primary School.
PE will continue to take place on a Tuesday with our coaches. Instead of a Monday, we will now have another slot on Friday afternoon.
Homework continues to include weekly spellings, reading and an English or maths task. Power Projects will also be set this term which are in line with our ‘Ahoy There!’ topic. Homework will be given out on a Friday and taken in the following Wednesday. Reading Records are needed in school every day so children can be heard read, and books changed.
